Where is Appleby?
Appleby-in-Westmorland
lies 13 miles East of Penrith on the southern edge of the A66 Scotch Corner to
Penrith road, and is a medieval
market town set in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley, which sits in a great
loop of the River Eden. Little has changed in this area for many centuries and
the town is still laid out in its ancient style
The
area offers some of the best salmon & trout fishing in the British Isles.
Fly
Fishing Tuition Courses
My
courses run for three days and all tuition takes place on a superb 5 mile
stretch of the River Eden above Appleby under my direct control.
The numbers on the course at anyone time are limited to four, so as to
ensure personal and individual attention.
I
add a FREE OF CHARGE days fly fishing at the end of the course for you to enjoy
and practice all the things you have been taught.
You
will experience the famous Eden Bustard fishing well into the night (akin to
Sea-Trout fishing) to gain this essential experience.
The
Courses are aimed at the beginner who has never fished before, and the more
experienced fisherman who is seeking to brush up certain aspects of his
technique. The course is a
delightful way of enjoying your fishing and combining practical guidance with
some excellent fishing on the River Eden.
The
River Eden
The
Eden is a scenic river, yet it provides challenging fishing and probably has the
finest Wild Brown Trout fishing in the British Isles.
The Eden is predominantly a semi-spate river with long mysterious pools
where large fish lurk, which after dark are attracted by the abundance of insect
life.
The following is a sample of the Course layout, which may vary slightly according to the pupils requirements.
